Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. In Charleston O'Dell's stories on the lenient police approach towards DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the states authorities again releasing an even more strict directive on DUI situations. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time in Charleston as a reporter, was a co-anchor for the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station, before transferring into Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor during weekends. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
